MUSINGS OF A NEW MOTHER

There was a time when I thought mothers with kids in shopping centres obviously have too much time on their hands and don't know what to do with it, ending up in the check-out lines of k-mart, big w, target with cranky, snotty, wailing babies around them. Toddlers running riot whilst the mother ignores them little realizing the misery of people around her having to listen to them or those desperately trying to sidestep them altogether.

There was a time when I would give anything just to swap my seat if I was placed next to a mother with an infant on a flight especially if that flight was going to be longer than 2 hours. I'd complain and cry about my misfortune to anyone brave enough to ask me about my flight. I'd hardly give a thought to offering a helping hand to the mother who'd be struggling to eat her meal and look after the baby at the same time.

In short I always thought the world would be better off without yet another baby!

Recently V and I took a pot shot at becoming parents as the next natural progression for a couple who have been together long enough to know when one has walked into the room what mood he or she is in without exchanging a word or even looking up. It was definitely time for a new member to join us as we were getting quite stale....and umm..... a little older too!

...And Lo and behold I finally Understood!!
